Beyond Banking
In 2001, a pressing matter came to my attention
in the form of a question: If Art is Life is Art, then what does
Art have to do with Banking? And the answer was obvious: Not
a whole lot.
But this quick conclusion didn't satisfy
me and I soon found myself developing a model for transgressing
not only the previously explored boundaries existing between Art
and Life, but as yet the tangible and relatively uncharted borders
entrenched firmly between Art and Banking.
In short, I started this project because
of a need to go Beyond Banking. I saw a need to invest in personal,
one-to-one communication. And because a friend and colleague –
IT architect/composer, Stephen C. – was in debt for CND$13,000.
I hated seeing a fellow artist suffer like that. Credit cards are
killers. As a Life-Art Advisor specializing in Financially-Induced
Emotional Crisis I wrote him a cheque from the bottom of my heart.
I then called it Art and with that, I inaugurated the Bank of Victoria.
He's still in debt today but his heart is
now fuller, beating with the compassion of my Bank. And in his fist
lies my sweaty Art.

distressed client ask for? |
